UEFITool Review
UEFITool is a free application that lets you view and edit UEFI firmware images. It's developed by CodeRush and can be used to analyze and manage the UEFI files of your system.
Currently, most new desktop PCs and laptops have UEFI firmware. Unlike BIOS, which is installed on the motherboard and runs in compatibility support mode for older 32-bit Windows, UEFI functions as the first program that loads when a machine boots. It's designed to replace the basic input/output system (BIOS) in a few years, but it's compatible with both systems.
The UEFI standard was designed to replace BIOS, which has its own security risks and performance issues. The specification includes features such as Conformance Profiles, crypto agility and support for LoongArch and RISC-V processor architecture.
In general, UEFI is a faster and more secure option to replace legacy BIOS. In addition, it provides an improved boot process for Linux and Windows machines.
It's also easy to customize, allowing you to modify settings without harming the computer's operation. Its simple user interface makes UEFI changing a breeze for beginners and advanced users alike.
UEFITool supports full parsing of a variety of BIOS image types including ROM, BIN, CAP, FD, WPH and EFI, all of which are loaded and displayed inside a structured view with details like name, type and subtype. It allows you to extract data from images, insert items within their structure or even to add or remove unwanted pieces.
